Remember the Times project

SWIPE is running a project called Remember the Times, this project will involve young people and volunteers to gain skills to gather information about their Caribbean Heritage, to research, identify and interpret the memories and culture of early migrants from the Caribbean, to work with Slough Museum and others to record, archive, and create displays from this information, showcase and share the project with the communities of Slough. Ensuring that the names and memories of those interviewed and their Islands of origin are archived for future generations.

For this project to succeed we need the older generation to take part and talk about their lives in Slough during those early years. If you came to Slough in the 1950’s or early 1960’s and would like to participate in the project, please contact us by giving us a call on 01753 512156 and ask to speak to Clo or Christine Brooks or by e-mail:

We expect the project to start during August 2013, with interviews taking place with permission at participant’s homes and at the Orchard Community Centre in Slough.
