Sunday Bandstand 2010

Live Music Every Summer Sunday In Salt Hill Park Slough 2010

Sunday Bandstand 2010 was live music from local acts every summer sunday in Sloughs Salth Hill Park with over 30 acts taking part!

The Sunday Bandstand project was organised and driven by the young people’s management team at SWIPE and supported by funding from Big Lottery and O2’s Think Big Project.

Young people planned the events, worked on budgeting and booking and were involved in risk assessment, stewarding and event management as well as writing an event plan, setting up on the day and engineering the events.

During the budgeting stage it was realised that the costs of things like first aid cover for the events and supply of welfare soon mounted up so Marcus Connolly from the management team applied for some further funding from O2 to help with the costs.

Each week a seasoned local act performed and then hosted the event for young musicians. In total, more than 30 acts performed at the bandstand during the six summer Sundays, even though rain stopped play on the last week.
